Buttermilk Cornbread recipe
1 cup cornmeal
1 1/8 cup buttermilk
1 cup AP flour
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
9 tablespoons granulated white sugar
1 cup whole kernel corn (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
- Combine buttermilk and baking soda. Stir and set aside.
- Beat eggs and add butter and whey mixture while stirring.
- Gradually add sugar, salt, corn flour, corn flour and whole grain. Continue mixing until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes. Let cool temperature. Slice and serve.
